I wrote this song exactly 25 years ago in 1995, half a lifetime ago now.

Sometimes it's fun to put the music in context with life events. After graduating from the U of M in 1994, I moved east to NJ during the summer of '94. At the time I wrote this song in early 1995, I was engaged to be married and living in my first apartment in Piscataway, NJ. The words and the melody were in my waking mind and I grabbed a guitar as soon as I woke up and wrote the words and the chords down. This song was definitely a gift and I'm grateful to have been able to capture it before it went away much like waking dreams often do. I have played it in church and other settings and I am happy to finally get a recording together.

The words of this song were my prayer then, and it is still is today.
